When is David Alaba returning from injury for Real Madrid?

Real Madrid center back David Alaba may no longer be a starter for the Royal Whites after Antonio Rudiger’s exceptional 2023/24 season and Eder Militao’s continued excellence, but the veteran defender is still an important player to the club.

After all, Alaba played a pivotal role as the No. 4 for Real Madrid when they won the Champions League in 2021/22, seamlessly replacing GOAT-tier center back Sergio Ramos after his own free agent departure to PSG.

Alaba, unfortunately, joined Militao with a torn ACL last season. But while Militao is back to his best for Madrid after returning from the early-season injury, the 32-year-old is still working his way back from a mid-season ACL tear in the winter.

According to a report from Diario AS, Real Madrid are expecting to have David Alaba back in November, but they are cautious about the Austrian captain’s return and do not want to guarantee anything.

The strategy Alaba and Real Madrid have collectively set is to not write a specific date in stone, rush, or offer any guarantees. They will just take things day by day and see when Alaba is most comfortable.

Some Real Madrid fans will be concerned about his recovery speed and the risk of decline after such a big injury, so the policy of keeping things quiet and taking things slow makes the most sense.

Hopefully Alaba gets to make a complete recovery and shine again as the world-class CB we all know he is. That’s the goal.
