Here is an updated running list of the latest Arsenal injuries with the latest news and an expected return date for each injured player when available. Check back here periodically for updates.
AM Martin Odegaard
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard suffered an injury with the Norway national team on Sept. 9 in a 2-1 win against Austria, and subsequent testing revealed ligament damage in his injured left ankle.
Odegaard is not expected to return to action for Arsenal until Nov. 23 when the Gunners face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, meaning he will end up missing nearly three months in total due to the ankle injury.
Arsenal have already missed Odegaard against Manchester City and PSG, but they were able to draw City and beat PSG 2-0. Meanwhile, Odegaard will still be out for other key fixtures against Inter Milan, Liverpool, Newcastle, and rivals Chelsea.
RB Ben White
Arsenal are thin at the fullback positions, and key starter Ben White has been out recently with a groin injury. White did not play in the wins over Leicester City or PSG due to an injury he suffered after about a half of action against Manchester City.
The 26-year-old defender currently remains without a clear timetable for return, but his injury isn’t expected to be serious. He could return against Southampton on Oct. 5 or, more likely, Bournemouth on Oct. 19 after the international fixtures.
RB Takehiro Tomiyasu
The subject of transfer speculation, Takehiro Tomiyasu has yet to play a single minute for Arsenal in the 2024/25 season due to a knee injury he suffered on July 21.
Tomiyasu was at least able to train before the PSG game, so that could put him at a faster rate of return than fellow fullback Oleksandr Zinchenko. As with White, it may be better to assume Tomiyasu won’t play until at least the end of the international fixtures, making Oct. 19 vs. Bournemouth the earliest realistic return date.
LB Oleksandr Zinchenko
Like Martin Odegaard, veteran inverted fullback Oleksandr Zinchenko has been out for about a month since the last slate of international fixtures, going down with a calf injury on Sept. 14.
Zinchcenko hasn’t returned to training yet and isn’t expected to play for the Ukraine during the October international fixtures. Therefore, at a minimum, the technician won’t be back in the Arsenal lineup until the Bournemouth fixture on Oct. 19.
LB Kieran Tierney
Loaned to Real Sociedad, Kieran Tierney was supposed to be sold permanently this past summer transfer window but could not move due to a hamstring injury. He returned to training early last month but has evidently either suffered a setback or is still a way’s off from returning.
Tierney is a decent player and is still part of the Arsenal squad, but, even then, there are at least three players who would be preferred to him at the left back position. It’s anyone’s guess as to when he would be back, if he even plays at all before being presumably sent off in January 2025 when healthy.
