Liverpool learn transfer fee for ideal Andrew Robertson replacement

Liverpool began to realize pretty quickly during the 2024/25 Premier League and Champions League seasons that the time has come to move on from left back Andrew Robertson.

Once arguably the world’s best left back, the former Premier League and Champions League winner has suffered a rapid decline, which was evident at the end of last season and even during the European Championships this summer with Scotland.

But after the likes of Bukayo Saka thoroughly roasted him, Robertson has reached a point of no return, and to save the fond memories of his peak at Anfield, it is high time the Reds make a change at left back, seeing as how nobody currently in the squad has proven capable of stepping in.

Milos Kerkez would replace Andrew Robertson

Since rumors of parting ways with Robertson first arose this season, Liverpool were linked to Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez, who is perhaps the highest-upside young left back in the English first division.

Now, according to a report from Fichajes in Spain, Bournemouth are asking for 40 million euros in the summer 2025 transfer window for Kerkez amidst interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Real Madrid are a familiar foe for Liverpool both on the transfer market and in the Champions League, and unlike in 2021/22 when they lost the UCL and top target Aurelien Tchouameni to the Royal Whites, the Reds will be hoping for a different outcome both on the field and off it with fullbacks Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kerkez the subject of possible transfer wars between these two European powers.

Kerkez is worth 28 million euros to Transfermarkt, so a 40 million euro asking price from the Cherries is reasonable, as Kerkez is just 21 years old and under contract with the Premier League side for a couple of more seasons.

While Real Madrid could use a new left back over Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia, if they weren’t pushing hard for Alphonso Davies this winter, then they probably aren’t going to go for Kerkez.

So Kerkez is Liverpool’s to lose. With how closely the Premier League giants have been linked to the young Hungarian left back, it would be a shock if he didn’t make the switch from Bournemouth to Anfield this summer transfer window, stepping in immediately as the starter over Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

This season, Kerkez has been solid with two goals and four assists to make a big difference a solid amount of progression, and excellent defending with 2.5 tackles and interceptions per game with just 0.5 dribbles per match allowed.
