Michael Carrick offers disappointing Benjamin Sesko, Patrick Dorgu, and Nousair Mazraoui injury news

Manchester United are having a terrible time right now, as they are 12th in the Premier League after initially looking like a resurgent side under iconic midfielder Michael Carrick as their new manager, returning to the Champions League last season.

Injuries are playing a huge role in their struggles, of course, and with the worst team in the league, Tottenham Hotspur, on the horizon, things still actually don’t get any easier for the Red Devils due to their injury situation.

Ahead of the Spurs game, Carrick told reporters that star wide man Patrick Dorgu is going to be out for weeks, striker Benjamin Sesko won’t play, and defensive stud Nousair Mazraoui is also not ready to return either.

Carrick said, “Patrick [Dorgu] came off and looks like he’ll be out for probably a number of weeks. Nous [Mazraoui] came off and took a knock. He’s not quite right yet, so we’ll have to see how he is. Carlos [Baleba] is improving, he’s trained a lot. Amad’s done a little bit of training, Marcus [Rashford] has done a little bit of training, Kobbie [Mainoo] has done a little bit of training. Ben [Šeško] is a little bit further away with the issue he’s got, so he won’t be ready.”

Sesko’s injury honestly looms the largest, because Man United are really missing their star striker and reference point, especially with his frame in the air. These shine issues have been a recurring nightmare for the high priced RB Leipzig signing.

Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Marcus Rashford are all toss-ups, but Mazraoui and Dorgu sound like they are definitely out against Spurs- and Dorgu for longer than that.

The Dorgu and Mazroaui injuries are big blows to Manchester United both in terms of their defensive quality and their ability to progress the ball up the pitch.
