Liverpool forward Bradley Barcola has come with a 123 million pound price tag and massive expectations after winning two straight Champions Leagues with PSG, and while he hasn’t scored or assisted yet, Kopites are high on his ability to be the true heir to Luis Diaz in the attack.
Barcola has the right mentality, too, and he explained to Liverpool fans that he has told Andoni Iraola that his goal is to not only attack but also to help the team in defense.
The Frenchman told Sky Sports in an interview, “When I spoke to him before signing, it was about playing out wide, doing what I do best and playing with lots of pace. That’s why he thought I was a good fit for this team. He knows I attack a lot but also defend a lot. He told me that’s exactly what he needed from me. I’m very happy and hope to repay his trust on the pitch.”
Liverpool fans can see that Barcola is averaging 1.5 tackles per game in addition to a key pass and a dribble completed per match, so he is living up to his words of defending hard for the team.
Now, the scoring threat just needs to click for the 24 year old winger.
