Chelsea have spent over 100 million euros on new forwards Pedro Neto and Joao Felix, who both combined for a goal in the Blues’ statement-making 6-2 drubbing of Wolves.
That win could set the tone for the rest of the season to follow, as Chelsea now have high hopes that new manager Enzo Maresca can bring out the best in what is a very talented squad.
Chelsea could be adding more top talent to the attack, too, with interest in star strikers Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, but the Blues are also seemingly intent on further stockpiling their wide forward options.
They have joined Juventus with serious interest in Manchester United superstar winger Jadon Sancho, who is capable of starting on the left or the right side of the attack.
Chelsea have been hoping to complete a swap deal with Manchester United for the England international, fresh off leading Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League Final during a six-month loan with the club he first became a European superstar at.
The Blues are hopeful that they can use veteran winger Raheem Sterling, of Liverpool and Manchester City fame, to coax Manchester United into giving them Sancho at a reduced price.
According to a report from Sky Sports’s Dharmesh Sheth and Kaveh Solhekol, Manchester United and Chelsea are in separate discussions for the sales of Sterling and Sancho to make this deal happen; there is now serious consideration of a transfer happening.
Sancho has registered double-digit assists in three separate Bundesliga seasons and is one of the best creative dribblers in world football. He’s only leaving Manchester United because manager Erik ten Hag stubbornly and infamously wants nothing to do with the talented 24-year-old.
Their loss could very well be Chelsea’s gain in the coming days, as Sancho could be an exclamation mark to cap off the summer window, giving Chelsea a trio of truly elite attacking options in Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, and the former Dortmund phenom.
