Chelsea have been big spenders again in the summer 2024 transfer window, securing Joao Felix and Pedro Neto for over 110 million euros while also landing Filip Jorgensen and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The Blues will also have Estevao Willian ready for the 2025/26 season and beyond.
Now, Chelsea need to make some more sales going the other direction, and they have a couple of big names in the attack who could fetch significant transfer fees if the right party can be found.
As Chelsea continue to look for possible bids for Raheem Sterling from the likes of Aston Villa, they’ve already had a very interested buyer for Romelu Lukaku over the past couple of months.
Napoli have been interested in the former Serie A MVP as a Victor Osimhen replacement, with Chelsea, of course, among the big clubs linked to the Nigerian superstar striker.
According to a report from top Italian insider Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli have submitted their latest transfer offer for Romelu Lukaku, and they are now willing to pay a hefty 30 million euros for the Belgian international.
Lukaku is coming off an underwhelming season on loan to Roma in Serie A, but he was solid for Inter Milan in the previous campaign, winning Coppa Italia whlie reaching the Champions League Final against Manchester City.
Since Lukaku is now 31 years old and coming off a down season in the same league, a 30 million euro transfer fee for the former Chelsea, Manchester United, and Everton striker is a more than fair fee; it is an upgrade on the offers Napoli were sending to Chelsea earlier.
So now the ball is in Chelsea’s court to make a decision. It would not be a surprise if both parties finally wrapped up a Lukaku transfer soon, allowing the Blues to focus on the next striker to join 2023 Villarreal signing Nicolas Jackson.
