Chelsea phenom scores Kylian Mbappe-esque goal

Chelsea have created a club philosophy under new owner Todd Boehly, and that is to focus on young talents who have the potential to be special and will be secured by the club for at least five years.

This summer, Chelsea have added a mix of those kinds of players, such as goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, along with some more established attacking players like Pedro Neto and Joao Felix.

But their biggest gem of the summer window is actually a young prospect who will be joining the main Chelsea squad for the 2024/25 season, as he has the ability to become the club’s biggest star – or, at the very least, at the level of Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku.

Estevao Willian has yet to play a minute in a top European league, but the 17-year-old from Palmeiras is doing so well that Chelsea fans can’t help but feel the club has already hit the jackpot with the 34 million euro (plus potentially hefty bonuses) signing.

Nicknamed “Messinho”, Willian offered yet another example of his precious quality with a brilliant goal for Palmeiras in a 5-0 blowout victory over Cuiaba in the Brazilian Serie A.

You can watch a video of the solo goal here, and it is one of many legitimate wondergoals Estevao Willian has scored since being reported as a new Chelsea player in the 2024/25 season.

Look at how Willian takes the defense on bravely, sets the fullback up for his move, and then penetrates the heart of the box. He buys time from the right-hand side, cutting in until he has a good look at goal with his left foot.

Most wingers will curl the ball into the far post, but Willian sees how the defenders and goalkeepers predict this, instead sneaking the ball into the near post just like Kylian Mbappe has done over the years with PSG in what has become the French superstar’s signature goal.

Messinho is mastering the moves of the greats. setting up the defense like Neymar then cutting inside like Arjen Robben and finally scoring like Mbappe. He is on a path to greatness, and more goals like this will have Chelsea fans buzzing for the years to come.
