For just 25 million pounds at a maximum, Chelsea can sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United permanently at the end of the season, and after just one game, it looks like the Blues will gladly deposit that check to the bank.
Only the most deluded of Manchester United fans who are all too willing to turn against club legends like Cristiano Ronaldo in order to drink the most foul of Kool-Aids concocted by Erik ten Hag believed the dross that Sancho was a locker room cancer and a flop of a player.
All it took was a competent viewer of this sport to understand that Borussia Dortmund were 10 times better with Sancho back in their ranks, and he put his full talents on display in the Champions League semifinals by outshining PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe to lift BVB to the Final.
At Chelsea, it has taken Sancho less than a game – 45 minutes off the bench, in fact – to show the Premier League that Manchester United have indeed made one of the worst blunders in the recent history of English football – all thanks to a manager whose talent ID is worse than a headless bouncer.
Sancho notched the game-winning assist for fellow former Bundesliga superstar Christopher Nkunku to lift Chelsea to a 1-0 victory. The assist itself was worth praising, but the full performance was spellbinding and showcased Sancho turning the pitch into his personal playground, just as he did in the Bundesliga.
“Bundesliga Tax” my ass, the smart ones shall say, and Chelsea could be rewarded handsomely for believing in a player who was as good as Robert Lewandowski during his best seasons in Germany.
Sancho had two key passes and two dribbles completed in a half that turned the game on its head and had the entirety of the Chelsea faithful in the traveling stands chanting his name gleefully.
With Jadon Sancho, Christopher Nkunku, and Cole Palmer leading the attack, the 2024/25 season looks like a very different one for Chelsea. As for Manchester United, they enjoyed a great 3-0 win over Southampton, but juxtapose the quality of their attackers, and it’s clear Sancho is going to be missed dearly.
But have fun with that cue ball of a coach Ten Hag, as he drives this train wreck of a Manchester United team straight into a dumpster fire that is simply emblazoned with the spray-painted letters “INEOS”.
