Manchester United need to revamp their center back situation and sign some young talents to replace Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane, who both look like they are at a stage of their careers where Saudi Arabia is beckoning.
INEOS and their manager for the 2024/25 season, whether or not it is Erik ten Hag, will have a different idea of how to build the squad and will likely focus on a mix of names and economical solutions at center back.
Basically, the task for Manchester United is finding relatively young, ascending talents who can realistically start for a club vying for a Champions League slot without burdening the team financially.
According to a report from The Times’s Paul Hirst, Manchester United would like to sign free agents with one year left on their contract and take advantage of talented market opportunities this summer.
One such name fits the bill as a young, ascending center back capable of starting at the Premier League level – Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.
The 26-year-old is entering his prime in central defense and has been a quality footballer for Fulham, with many top-four hopeful clubs in the Premier League showing interest in one of the best free agent defenders available in European football.
Manchester United would indeed do well to show interest in Adarabioyo, who would immediately be a better option than either Varane or Maguire with more upside, too.
