Real Madrid get sobering Rodrygo injury news before AC Milan battle

Real Madrid superstar forward Rodrygo Goes was forgotten by the Madrid media coming into the 2024/25 season after the signing of Kylian Mbappe, but the Brazilian attacker was the best of the front line to start the campaign.

However, Rodrygo has been out of commission for the last couple of weeks after suffering a hamstring injury on Oct. 22 in Real’s comeback win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Rodrygo was badly missed in Real’s embarrassing 4-0 Clasico defeat to Barcelona, and now Real Madrid are waiting to see when the well-rounded 23-year-old winger will be able to return.

Real Madrid will face Carlo Ancelotti’s old club AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night with nothing less than a win expected against a rather uneven Rossoneri side that has serious questions about head coach Paulo Fonseca.

Although Real Madrid fans were hoping Rodrygo would be able to suit up for another big Champions League night, the 2021/22 hero is not expected to be available.

According to a report from Relevo’s Jorge C. Picon, it will be too difficult for Rodrygo to make it back on time for the Milan match, and, thus, his expected return date will be next weekend on Nov. 9 in La Liga against Osasuna.

Given Osasuna were Copa del Rey finalists in the 2022/23 season and just beat league leaders Barcelona 4-2 in the current campaign, the northern Spanish side will be a dangerous foe for Real Madrid.

Having Rodrygo’s game-breaking ability in tight spaces will be valuable for the Blancos, and even though the Milan game is important, a La Liga battle like this one is, too, with Barca commanding the league.

Hopefully, Rodrygo will be 100 percent and ready to shine for Real Madrid next weekend. He has four goal contributions in 648 minutes this season with a healthy average of 2.2 key passes and 1.9 dribbles completed per 90 minutes.
