Tottenham’s biggest January 2025 transfer priority

Tottenham are currently a lowly 12th in the Premier League despite having a goal difference that is tied for fifth in the league and the second-most goals in the top flight overall.

A lot of that is due to their swashbuckling playing style under Ange Postecoglou rather than any one player shining individually as a goal-scorer, because, in fact, their best player, Son Heung-min, only has five goals so far this season.

Moreover, Tottenham have been the victims of horrible luck with injuries again, as their best defenders Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario have all suffered serious injuries this season.

Despite the myriad of injuries in defense and a few lingering question marks about their midfield, Spurs don’t view either of those areas as their biggest priority to address in the January 2025 transfer window.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham view the forward position as their biggest priority this winter, and, as part of that, they are indeed interested in PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani.

So putting the two together, it looks like Kolo Muani is their biggest individual player priority right now. After all, nobody has been linked to Spurs more often this winter so far than the Frenchman, and if their biggest priority is a striker and he is the main striker they are linked to, it stands to reason Daniel Levy wants him the most.

Kolo Muani was a great player for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga but has struggled mightily since moving to PSG last year, initially costing the Ligue 1 giants 95 million euros.

Tottenham surely aren’t going to spend that kind of money on RKM, but since they did pay 60 million pounds for a less acclaimed striker in Dominic Solanke this past summer, perhaps they would be willing to pay a pretty penny and gamble on Kolo Muani as Solanke’s new partner in crime up top.
