Transfer Rumors: Manchester United ready to sell 3 star forwards this summer

Manchester United may undergo the most changes of any club in European football this summer, and that may still be the case even if INEOS somehow decides to give Erik ten Hag another season as manager.

A lot of changes are expect at the heart of defense, and even the midfield still needs reworking after the unsuccessful summer 2023 signings of Mason Mount (Chelsea) and Sofyan Amrabat (Fiorentina).

However, Man United’s attack remains dire, even with Rasmus Hojlund starting to come into his own as a first-year United striker. Marcus Rashford has stagnated badly in his second season under ten Hag, Jadon Sancho is flourishing with Dortmund and probably doesn’t want to return, and then Antony has looked like an even bigger flop than he did in his first season from Ajax.

According to The Mirror’s David McDonnell, all three of these high-priced, big-name forwards are going to be made available for transfer this summer by Manchester United.

Man United are ready to give up on Antony after two dismal seasons, Sancho is on the shopping block after his falling out with ten Hag, and the club is finally even open to selling homegrown star Rashford.

It may not be easy to find a suitor for Antony, but someone is probably willing to take a flier on a highly skilled Brazilian, especially if Manchester United are content with offering him up on loan.

Sancho going back to Borussia Dortmund is probably the easiest scenario to envision, and he has greatly boosted their hopes, helping Die Schwarzgelben return to the Champions League semifinals against the odds.

Rashford is the hardest of the three to see leaving Old Trafford, and he is a capable 15-goal Premier League goal-scorer; he’s done it twice, including in his first season under ten Hag.

But seasons like this make it seem as though Rashford’s career could honestly benefit from a change in scenery. He’s too talented to be this anonymous for this many matches in a row. Of these three forwards, Rashford could fetch INEOS and Manchester United the most money to reinvest elsewhere.

After all, PSG have always been admirers, and they will have a vacancy for a goal-scoring left winger once Kylian Mbappe makes his way to Real Madrid.
