Real Madrid phenom Endrick stole all the headlines on Tuesday night when the Merengue club took down Bundesliga side Stuttgart in the Champions League, as the Brazilian international scored the goal of the week.
Endrick led a three-on-two counterattack from his own half, but instead of passing to either of the two best players in the world, Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe, the 18-year-old took a rocket shot with that left foot of his from beyond range, beating the keeper for pace.
It was a moment of magic and boldness from a player who has the potential to become the best in the world in his own right, and it was another very quick debut goal for Endrick, who needed just 15 minutes to score his first Champions League goal and 10 for his debut goal in LaLiga against Real Valladolid.
With so many stars in the Real Madrid attack, it’s fair to wonder when Endrick will get rewarded with his first start at the club after showing such prolific scoring efficiency off the bench.
According to a report from Diario AS, that opportunity could come as early as this weekend, as Endrick will get his first Real Madrid start either on Sept. 21 against Espanyol or next Tuesday Sept. 24 against Deportivo Alaves.
Both clubs are great tests for Endrick to start, because they can be highly defensive, especially against Real Madrid. That will give Endrick a chance to showcase his wise off-ball movement (well beyond his years) and his ability to create pockets of space for shooting opportunities.
