2025/26 Serie A Power Rankings after Matchday 3: Picking the top 6

The 2025/26 Serie A season is now three games old after an unforgettable Derby d’Italia, a huge statement win by Napoli over Fiorentina, and a hard-fought 1-0 AC Milan win over Bologna this past weekend.

Here are the latest updated Serie A power rankings.

6. Atalanta

Atalanta and Ademola Lookman are embroiled in an impasse, and even though La Dea also lost leading goal-scorer Mateo Retegui this past summer, there’s still star power left in Bergamo.

They reminded the rest of Italian football of that fact in a 4-1 drubbing of Lecce, with Charles De Ketelaere landing a cooly taken brace alongside Nicola Zalewksi’s standout game.

Atalanta will find it tough to crack the top four again, but it’s also tough to envision them falling so far behind in Serie A that they aren’t able to qualify for any sort of European football.

5. AC Milan

AC Milan are easily the most labile team in the top six, and, to be honest, it’s fair to wonder if there’s any reason to have more faith in them than an underdog side like, say, Como.

But Milan are survivors, and it seems like they offer more in seasons when they are counted out. Though it wouldn’t be wise to count out a team that has Luka Modric running the show in midfield, and when Rafael Leao returns to full strength, the Rossoneri will be able to truly put their best foot forward.

4. Inter Milan

Even though it’s only been three games, I doubt anyone had Inter being in the bottom half of their Serie A table on their bingo card. Funnily enough, they are a spot behind a Torino side they blew out 5-0 on Matchday 1.

Obviously, Inter are good bets to rank higher than fourth and are still bona fide Serie A title contenders, but since power rankings are based on what a team is doing lately, losing to Udinese and Juventus is hardly grounds for a top two ranking, especially when No. 2 is the team that just beat you.

3. Roma

Roma were statistically the best team in Serie A in the second half of the 2025/26 season, and they’ve sort of picked up where they left off with two wins in three games to rank sixth in the league.

The Giallorossi certainly don’t have a better squad than Inter and aren’t seen as serious title contenders, but they are a valid darkhorse play even after showing vulnerability with a shutout loss to Torino.

2. Juventus

Maybe it’s too soon to start believing, but with excellent offseason pickups like Lois Openda, Jonathan David, and Edon Zhegrova, Juventus signed some of European football’s most underrated stars to vastly upgrade an attack that was carried by Kenan Yildiz and Kenan Yildiz alone.

Igor Tudor is playing to Juve’s strengths in a way that Thiago Motta wasn’t, and, though it’s early, he’s even started to breathe some life into Dusan Vlahovic. Juve have a great defense and real talent at all levels; they just need to consistently unlock it.

1. Napoli

Napoli and Juventus are the only two Serie A teams to win all three of their first matches of the 2025/26 season. The Partenopei have not slipped despite losing star striker Romelu Lukaku to injury, which is saying something since the Belgian legend’s 14 goals and 10 assists were massive to the side winning the title last year.

Juve and Inter obviously represent tough title challenges, but the identity of Napoli has not changed in 2025/26 under Antonio Conte while, if anything, the team is positioned more strongly with the addition of another legend, Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.
