A former manager wants to take three unwanted players off Chelsea’s hands

Chelsea have made most of their wheeling and dealing in the summer 2024 transfer window, spending over 110 million euros on Pedro Neto and Joao Felix, and now it is time for the Blues to sell off the players who have no place in the squad for the upcoming season.

Already, Chelsea have secured an agreement with Napoli for the long-awaited Romelu Lukaku transfer, earning close to 50 million euros in total from the veteran Belgian striker.

Next up on the list is 29-year-old winger Raheem Sterling, who has received rumored transfer interest from around the Premier League but nothing remotely concrete at this juncture.

According to a report from Turkish outlet Fanatik, Fenerbahce and manager Jose Mourinho, who made a name for himself coaching Chelsea, are interested in taking three players off the Blues’ hands.

Raheem Sterling is the most prominent of those players, but Fenerbahce are also reportedly interested in left back Ben Chilwell and center back Benoit Badiashile. Like Sterling, Chilwell has been pushed to the periphery of the squad and left off the matchday lists by new coach Enzo Maresca.

Chilwell is prone to injury, and, likewise, Sterling may not have a future in European football at all if clubs in the Premier League don’t want to take a flier on either talented veteran.

Chelsea clearly don’t have plans for either player. And clubs outside of the Premier League won’t be interested in spending on their wages when they can easily find cheaper alternatives within their own leagues of similar quality.

Badiashile is more interesting. He joined Chelsea from Monaco with a lot of fanfare and was once a prime transfer target for Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane, who has legendary talent ID.

Really, Badiashile has not performed poorly for Chelsea and is still only 23 years old. You have to think the big French center back would be able to draw looks from clubs bigger than Fenerbahce.
