Every Premier League Big 6 club’s most underrated player right now

Everyone wants to talk about the superstars and the guys competing for scoring titles or the Ballon d’Or, but there are so many great players even at the Big Six Premier League clubs who don’t get enough love. So let’s shout out the workhorses who are shining for the biggest teams in England without as much fanfare as their teammates.

Arsenal: Jurrien Timber

The young right back has slotted in beautifully for Arsenal since joining and has become the nailed on starter with 27 of them this season. Timber has eight goal contributions and is one of many set piece mavens for the club, but where he really stands out is his one on one defending.

You can make a very, very strong case that Timber is already the best defensive fullback in world football. He leads Arsenal’s elite defense with 2.2 tackles per game, inexplicably only allowing 0.3 dribbles completed per match as a right back. He is truly special.

Chelsea: Moises Caicedo

Look, certainly no Chelsea fan is out there underrating Moises Caicedo, but I still don’t think the vast majority of Premier League and world football fans understand just how good this guy is.

For my money, Caicedo is Chelsea’s best player, even above Cole Palmer due to the England international’s questionable 2025/26 season. Caicedo is the best pure defensive midfielder in the game today, and it is outrageous how many possessions he destroys and how many attacks he starts for Chelsea.

Liverpool: Dominik Szoboszlai

Again, I highly doubt any Liverpool fans are out there overlooking Dominik Szoboszlai, but how many fans around the world know that Szobo is Liverpool’s best player this season?

He has been insane with literally no weaknesses to his game. He is the Reds best ball winner, progressor, creator, dribbler, and workhorse in the midfield, which has been especially vital in a season in which Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have been two of the league’s biggest flops.

Manchester City: Marc Guehi

I had trouble with this one, because I am not sure any of the Manchester City players qualify as underrated, particularly not those who are already great, but I do think Marc Guehi deserves more credit for being the best center back in the Premier League right now.

Watching him shine as the best player on Man City since being transferred to the club has been eye opening. He is so calm, collected, and in command, and now that he is in a bigger spotlight at Man City after Crystal Palace, maybe he will get more best in the world shouts by this time next year.

Manchester United: Amad Diallo

He may only have two goals and two assists this season, but that’s just about the only thing you can knock Amad Diallo for. Ask any Manchester United diehard, and they will gush to you both about how much they love the Ivorian international and how much better Man United are with him in the team.

Diallo can play nearly any position and do nearly anything. He is an active ball winner and literally the team’s best ball progressor and wide creator. At 23, Diallo has a great future ahead of him and really showed his character by starring even when Manchester United were terrible.

Tottenham Hotspur: Mohammed Kudus

It’s no coincidence that Tottenham have been winless since Mohammed Kudus’s injury. There is literally nobody else even remotely underrated in this team, because everyone is either unproven, terrible, or disgustingly overrated like Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario.

But Kudus was literally the entire team for much of the season, and Tottenham were actually playing respectable football early on because of him. If Spus did not sign Kudus, they would be last in the league right now. His return cannot come soon enough.
