With the Barcelona presidency up for grabs right now, there have been promises made of big splashes to shake up the team, and since the biggest need the club have is for a new No. 9 to help out Lamine Yamal, there have been rumblings of another major play for the club’s No. 1 obsession, Erling Haaland.
But for any Barcelona fan actually dreaming of the Norwegian leaving Manchester City for Catalunya, they have been dealt a rather definitive blow by his agent Rafaela Pimenta, who told this to El Chiringuito, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano:
“We have a lot of respect and admiration for Barcelona, but there hasn’t been any contact whatsoever — with Erling Haaland or with Barcelona’s management, regarding potential transfer targets. Also, because the player renewed his contract a few months ago, he’s very happy at Manchester City. Everything is going very well for him and we really have nothing to discuss about a transfer when everything is so good at City.”
A more realistic, but still expensive and highly difficult, dream target at striker is Haaland’s former Manchester City teammate Julian Alvarez, who is currently starring for Atletico Madrid but potentially considering joining a more attacking side like Barca.
As for Haaland, there are always rumors and reports linking him to the Big Two in La Liga, but the man has been very, very happy at Manchester City with no indication of a potential transfer.
