Burnley 0-1 Bournemouth
Sunderland 1-1 Brighton
Chelsea 2-2 Newcastle
Chelsea are reeling after Filip Jorgensen gifted PSG a 5-2 win in the Champions League, while Newcastle could only draw Barcelona despite outplaying them. This matchup is going to be too close to call between these two top five contenders in the Premier League, and they will ultimately share the spoils.
One of the biggest questions heading into this game is now Chelsea’s goalkeeper. Liam Rosenior seems to be set on Jorgensen as the No. 1 despite a horrendous performance againt PSG. Can he bounce back?
Arsenal 1-0 Everton
Arsenal did not perform well against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, but it is impossible to pick against a defense this strong when they are playing at home against an inferior opponent in Everton that still hasn’t quite figured out the right formula.
West Ham 1-2 Manchester City
West Ham would love to play spoilers against Manchester City at home and get a crucial point – or more – in the relegation fight, and while Man City look vulnerable, they are also a wounded animal. And you had better believe Antoine Semenyo, Erling Haaland, and Pep Guardiola will be out to bounce back and put the hurt on the Hammers in response.
Manchester United 3-2 Aston Villa
Manchester United are beginning to show some cracks in the armor after a brilliant run of games under new manager Michael Carrick, as Newcastle helped expose some of the flaws in this team.
But Man United’s changes are legit, and though the injury crisis will give Aston Villa’s attack room to roam, Man United will response in kind with their own star attackers. Look for a big, statement making game from young star striker Benjamin Sesko.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Fulham
Crystal Palace 2-1 Leeds
Liverpool 3-1 Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur are able to fix any mistakes, and Liverpool’s question marks in attack are about to be answered, even if for one game only, by a Spurs defense that will be able to make even Mohamed Salah look like he is in his prime again.
Salah’s decline is not as big as you may think, by the way. Spurs will allow the cavernous holes the midfielders need to finally serve up Salah, and he and Hugo Ekitike will feast on an overrated defense and a team in shambles that has somehow got even worse thanks to Igor Tudor.
Brentford 1-1 Wolves
