The writing is on the wall for Alejandro Garnacho after Chelsea’s latest transfer news

Alejandro Garnacho begged and begged to leave Manchester United last summer transfer window, thinking he merited a big opportunity at another top club, and Chelsea, ever hungry for high upside talent no matter the risk, obliged.

Although the attacking midfielder and pretend winger managed to have a couple of moments against easier competition, his first season at Chelsea was a monumental flop, exposing his selfish ways and inconsistent play.

Now, Chelsea fans will be all too glad to let him go, and there is surprisingly a big club in Serie A interested. According to Italian transfer insider Alfredo Pedulla, via Absolute Chelsea, Roma have requested information from the Blues on the availability of Garnacho for a loan.

While many Chelsea fans would be more than happy to see Garnacho leave for Roma, the Giallorossi and other potentially interested parties probably do not want to blow cash on such an inconsistent, immature, and highly paid player before taking him for a test drive first.

Serie A has been kind to former Premier League strugglers, including a few of Garnacho’s former Manchester United teammates like striker Rasmus Hojlund and former MVP Scott McTominay in midfield over at Napoli. Garnacho may relish the chance to prove himself for a year in Rome alongside former Aston Villa (and Dortmund) man Donyell Malen.
