Arsenal left back Myles Lewis-Skelly was one of the big breakout stars of the 2024/25 season and played an important role in the club’s Champions League run, but after the signing of Piero Hincapie, he can barely get a game in at left back.
Now, Lewis-Skelly could be prepared for an Arsenal exit this summer. According to a report from The Sun’s Simon Collings, Lewis-Skelly has opened up to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta with frustrations over his lack of playing time.
Thus, MLS’s future at Arsenal has become unclear, and while a loan move away is more likely for the 2026/27 season, there is also the possibility that he could be sold.
The 19 year old showed something for the Gunners last season, but so far in the 2025/26 campaign, he has only started once. Though he is talented, the reality is that Arsenal are competing for titles, not running a charity operation, and MLS is a clearly inferior left back to Riccardo Calafiori and Hincapie with, in all honesty, less long term upside.
Arsenal fans will want him loaned, but the harsh truth is that the Gunners may just cash in and let him attempt to flourish at a smaller Premier League side where he can play every game as an important starter.
