West Ham might start the Graham Potter era with a shocking transfer gamble

West Ham were one of the busiest teams in the Premier League during the summer 2024 transfer market, particularly from an attacking perspective with striker Niclas Fullkrug, veteran playmaker Carlos Soler, and young winger Crysencio Summerville all coming in. With the exception of Summerville, the transfers haven't worked out at all for West Ham, who are already likely to move on from Fullkrug at striker. And the Hammers are 14th in the Premier League table, having just axed manager Julen Lopetegui. Graham Potter is the new captain of the ship, and, based on the early transfer rumors, there's a sense that another big shakeup could be coming to the West Ham squad as they look to desperately avoid another relegation brush. According to a report from Ex-WHU Employee, West Ham are amo...

Aston Villa could lose their top January 2025 transfer target to Newcastle

Aston Villa have the best striker tandem in the Premier League in Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran, and the two could not have more differing skill-sets when looking at Watkins's all-around excellence and Duran's sharpshooting. But even with Morgan Rodgers breaking out as a versatile creator, Aston Villa are looking for more attacking firepower in their effort to get back into the top four of the Premier League, particularly with Leon Bailey slowing in 2024/25. Donyell Malen is atop the list of transfer targets for Aston Villa, whose need for another winger only increased after the club agreed to sell Jaden Philogene to Ipswich Town this winter. Although Malen seems to be close to a move from Borussia Dortmund to Aston Villa, a deal is not official yet, and there may be a chance a Pre...

Brighton can be the ones to resurrect a forgotten Liverpool prospect

Brighton have resumed being one of the Premier League's most entertaining teams under new manager Fabian Hurzeler, who could prove to be a better fit for the club's identity and youth development in the long run than former coach Roberto De Zerbi. So far, Brighton sit 10th in the Premier League table and seem to be behind the pace in the European race after a bright start to the season, but with a bevy of new faces and young players who can only improve from here on out, they'll still like their chances at surprising. Brighton aren't done landing high-upside talents, as Sky Sports are reporting that they, alongside Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, are interested in acquiring Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott. The former 7-goal, and 11-assist winger at Blackburn in the Champion...

Graham Potter eyeing Chelsea man for a bizarre first transfer at West Ham

West Ham are 14th in the Premier League and in dire straits, but they are hoping that the end of the Julen Lopetegui disaster and the arrival of former Brighton manager Graham Potter will help them right the ship. After a summer of significant transfer investment that included the likes of Guido Rodriguez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Carlos Soler, Crysencio Summerville, and Niclas Fullkrug, West Ham, in all likelihood, will have to prepare for more notable moves this winter in order to appease the incoming Potter. While Potter comes with a track record of elevating a club in the Premier League, he also had a pretty poor spell at Chelsea that led to his early dismissal, even if he did end up being a fair bit better than the man who immediately replaced him, Mauricio Pochettino. Potter's eve...

Tottenham’s Randal Kolo Muani transfer pursuit just got even riskier

Tottenham spent 60 million pounds this past summer in order to sign Dominic Solanke as a well-rounded focal point to the Spurs attack who could help Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min more involved on the scoresheet. So far, the investment has had mixed results. While Solanke has been very good from an all-around perspective, the goals on the wings have been slow to come by, and Solanke isn't much of a primary scorer either with less than a goal every two games. Meanwhile, Tottenham are still nowhere near getting a true foothold on a European place, much less a spot in the top four, which was their obvious goal coming into the 2024/25 season after finishing fifth to Aston Villa last year. So Tottenham are in the market for some more attacking firepower this January, and one of the...

Aston Villa have an even more staggering valuation for Jhon Duran on the transfer market

This past summer, it looked like Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran had one foot out the door at Villa Park, as West Ham and other notable clubs around European football were angling to sign the Colombian, viewed as one of the highest-upside striker prospects on the planet. It got to the point where some frustrated fans wanted Villa to part ways with Duran for a fee somewhere north of 50 million euros, as West Ham, for example, were highly interest in making Duran the centerpiece of their new attacking project. Instead, Unai Emery buckled down and stood firm on his desire to avoid selling Duran at anything other than an astronomical, totally unreasonable figure, because he saw the potential in the No. 9, even with a logjam at the position created by reigning Premier League Player of the ...

Rangers Player Ratings vs. Dundee: Nedim Bajrami, Jefte drop stinkers in draw

Rangers dropped more valuable points on Thursday night in the Scottish Premiership, drawing Dundee 1-1. Here are the player ratings. GK Liam Kelly, 6.0 LB Jefte, 4.0 Poor. Only "bested" by his fullback counterpart on the other side in this battle of incompetence, and he was only narrowly better by virtue of the fact that he could run fast. Jefte's yellow card was a prime example of a player without a clue of how to tackle, nor was Jefte's contributions as a passer going forward any better. Whatever he looked like on Thursday, he didn't look like a professional left back playing for one of European football's most historic clubs. CB Clinton Nsiala, 7.0 Nsiala blocked a total of four shots and made five clearances for Rangers, standing out as one of the few players on the team who pl...

Aston Villa interested in signing two of LaLiga’s best RBs

Aston Villa have been in the market for right back help for quite some time now, as Matty Cash hasn't been cutting it when comparing him to other starting right backs in the top seven of the Premier League. After securing a top-four finish last season and Champions League football, Aston Villa have found themselves in a much more difficult fight to secure UCL action next season. So Unai Emery and Monchi will have to make a couple of splashes this winter, too, in order to remain proactive and make sure they give themselves the best chance of success in the second half of the campaign. According to a report from Spanish footballing insider Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Aston Villa are showing interest in two of the best right backs in LaLiga, Juan Foyth of Villarreal and Rayo Vallecano'...

Liverpool want to sign the best available free agent (that isn’t one of their own)

Liverpool could potentially lose two of the best players in the world to free agency in 2025, as right winger Mohamed Salah and right back Trent Alexander-Arnold are both on expiring contracts without new deals in place. While the Reds have been slow to negotiate both deals, the overall sentiment is that the Premier League and Champions League leaders will be able to retain both players. Not only are they both world-class players, but Salah is the best right winger on the planet and Alexander-Arnold the best healthy right back. Losing Salah, the best player in the world, to Saudi Arabia would be devastating, but if Alexander-Arnold were to join Champions League rivals Real Madrid, that may be even more devastating, especially since TAA is a homegrown talent. But even as Liverpool ...

Tottenham are eyeing the most shocking transfer of the January 2025 window

Tottenham have five different players with at least five goals scored, but they don't have a single player with 10 goals in the first half of the 2024/25 Premier League season. Dominic Solanke has been an all-around success at striker for Spurs, but his seven goals in 17 starts are a below-average return and don't even represent the team lead, as No. 10 James Maddison has scored 8. So Tottenham are looking for some additional goal-scoring with Son Heung-min slow off the block with 5 goals in 17 games and Solanke offering a different skill-set to that of a normal striker. There are options at the 9, like Randal Kolo Muani, but they, like Solanke, are expensive and therefore not without risk. So Tottenham could look to make a splash by going a less orthodox route. According to a ...
