Barcelona can look to Manchester United for their LW solution

Barcelona have one of the best right wingers in world football in teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who looks like the new face of the club.

However, the rest of their attacking situation is far from settled. Robert Lewandowski is one of the better strikers in LaLiga, but his periodic slumps and bizarre technical errors have made it apparent that his best days are behind him.

Meanwhile, the left wing position is a real black hole for Barcelona. Joao Felix is a left-footed playmaker masquerading as a left winger, while Ferran Torres is simply too inconsistent to trust as a starter.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been tabbed as the dream transfer solution for Barcelona on the left wing, but because of his importance to Napoli, he could cost well over 100 million euros. That’s money Barcelona cannot afford to spend.

If they want an economical solution to the left wing position, perhaps Barcelona can call up Manchester United and ask them about one of their biggest stars.

No, that player isn’t Marcus Rashford, even though Man United could be open to selling him in 2024 for the first time ever. Rashford’s wages would also preclude Barcelona from acquiring him.

Jadon Sancho could be a great signing for Barcelona. He will almost certainly be up for sale if INEOS truly decide to keep Erik ten Hag, which is not impossible.

Even if ten Hag goes, Sancho could choose to move on from Manchester United after two bitter seasons on their books, as he has clearly enjoyed his football with the more expansive Dortmund.

Barcelona wanted Sancho the summer he left for Man United; they just couldn’t afford him at the time. Now, Sancho will cost a fraction of the price, and, at 40 million euros, he could be a transfer bargain for Barcelona.

Certainly, Sancho will be cheaper than Kvaratskhelia. Better yet, if Barcelona decide to sell right winger Raphinha with Yamal breaking out, the Blaugrana could actually generate money in the end.

With two 25-goal contribution seasons under his belt at Dortmund in the past, Sancho can bring the end product, skill, and chance-creation that Barcelona are looking for across from Yamal and next to Lewandowski.
