Chelsea get Pedro Neto transfer news nobody expected

Chelsea winger Pedro Neto has been a disappointment this season, frustrating fans, and there is a belief among those at Stamford Bridge that the club would be better off without a good but not great winger who thinks he should play like the star of the team rather than a supporting character.

Neto is one of the players Chelsea could have on the chopping block as they continue their never ending process of retooling their squad in pursuit of a third Champions League title.

Surprisingly, Neto is already drawing interest but not from clubs a step down – or several steps down from Chelsea – like Wolves where he can be “the guy”, but Barcelona are apparently interested.

Per a new report from Mundo Deportivo in Catalunya, Barca are monitoring the Chelsea right winger ahead of the summer transfer window. They already have Lamine Yamal as the best right winger in the world and Raphinha as already the second best, having to play on the left wing.

So it would be weird for Barcelona to add a third left footed winger when they are desperate for a striker and probably have a better need for a right footed left winger, though they are 99 percent going to keep Marcus Rashford permanently.

Neto doesn’t really make sense, so chalk this news up as too good to be true. But Barcelona have made transfer blunders in their recent past, so Chelsea fans might as well hope the Blaugrana do it again with a player who is not remotely good enough to start for them.
