Lately, there has been some drama regarding the future of Liverpool superstar goalkeeper Alisson Becker, as Juventus and other clubs, particularly in Serie A, are dreaming of bringing the Brazilian international in as an upgrade to their situations.
However, on his YouTube channel, top transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano clarified the Alisson rumblings by stating that the star goalkeeper wants to stay with Liverpool.
Per Fab, the message from Alisson’s reps is that despite the interest from Serie A suitors, Alisson wants to stay for another season. Romano did not comment on his future beyond 2027, but he states that Alisson at least wants to fulfill his contract through the 2026/27 campaign.
Although Alisson has been disappointing this season, so has the entire Liverpool team, including the defense in front of him. Moving on from a top five goalkeeper in the world is not a good move for Liverpool, especially since they are lacking leadership and likely to lose Ibrahima Konate and Mohamed Salah already this summer.
Another season of Alisson and then reevaluating his contract a few months into it makes sense, as the Reds can then decide on committing to him and keeping him out of free agency vs. moving on with Giorgi Mamardashvili.
