Inter Milan ambitiously want to upgrade team with two of Spanish football’s future superstars

Inter Milan are by far the best team in Serie A this season, but after getting humbled by Bodo Glimt in the Champions League after last year’s debacle vs. PSG in the Final, the Nerazzurri want to add more star power – and they are already eyeing Nico Paz and Nico Williams for summer 2026.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Inter want a major summer overhaul this coming market. They want to be more physical and athletic with high intensity, quick players to bring in a new phase of football, and they may even switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation as they look to back Christian Chivu to the fullest.

Nico Paz would be the dream signing to end all dream signings, but he would be almost impossible to sign. Real Madrid are guaranteed to buy him back for just a few million euros from Como, as Paz has been the best player in Serie A this season, leading Como’s amazing underdog charge to the Champions League places.

Real Madrid are not going to sell Paz for anything other than an unreasonable price, and, even then, Florentino Perez may want to see his big academy star try it out at the Santiago Bernabeu for at least a year.

Williams is more realistic but also difficult for two reasons. Firstly, he may not fit the Inter formation, since he is an out-and-out inverted left winger and not a striker or wing back – and Inter obviously have four great strikers and Federico Dimarco at the left wing back position,

Secondly, Williams will be highly coveted still by Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona, and after declining in performance for a dysfunctional Athletic Club side that has severely disappointing in 2025/26, Williams may want out to those clubs.

That said, Inter would then stand a good chance at signing him, too, if they can convince him of the project. But overall, the big story here is that Inter are not content with dominating a weak Serie A; they want to be Champions League winners again.
