Manchester United are hoping to find a permanent solution for their players out on loan, shining in new sceneries after falling out of favor at Old Trafford, and the most high profile overall departure is that of Marcus Rashford.
The England international has really kicked on in that left wing role at Barca, and whlie even the likes of Robert Lewandowski are pointing out the frustrating fact that he cannot show enough intensity to match his prodigious talent, he has still been a rousing success as a rotational piece for the La Liga leaders.
Man United and Barcelona are busy finagling over a purported 30 million euro transfer to make his loan deal permanent, but now the Blaugrana have thrown another wrench in the plans.
Per a report from transfer insider Ben Jacobs, Barcelona sporting director Deco has now offered to Manchester United the idea of a second loan deal for Rashford for the 2026/27 season, which would buy the perennially cash strapped Blaugrana more time to afford the fee Man United want for Rashy.
Jacobs says that Manchester United are insisting on Barcelona paying the full 30 million euros in the option to buy clause of his loan in order for this deal to happen, and Barcelona see this additional loan proposal as a way to achieve that.
Man United fans will be miffed. Barcelona should surely have enough money to afford a 30 million euro deal, which is reasonable. Man United want the cash now and want to move on now, rather than kicking the can in a year, in which case Barca could always pull a fast one and not buy him, trying ot argue of circumstances have changed. A bird in the hand is worth more than one in the bush.
