Two Barcelona stars are shamelessly recruiting Nico Williams

Barcelona are pushing to sign a new attacking difference-maker to work with veteran striker Robert Lewandowski and young sensation Lamine Yamal.

Even before the Euro 2024 tournament began, Athletic Club standout Nico Williams was on Barca’s radar as the most logical left wing option, given his cost and recent production in LaLiga as one of Spanish football’s top wingers.

Williams has only enhanced his reputation on a global scale, forming a potent one-two punch with Yamal that has La Roja dreaming of another European Championship.

Barcelona fans aren’t the only ones gunning for a Williams signing this summer, as Barcelona players and Williams’ Spanish national teammates are openly recruiting the 21-year-old.

Midfielder Pedri told Mundo Deportivo that Nico Williams would be a “spectacular” and “incredible” signing for Barcelona in 2024.

Furthermore, Williams’ winger partner Lamine Yamal has been doing the same, forcefully and openly pushing the club to sign Williams in a way that is so obvious it could hurt Barca’s transfer bargaining power.

Then again, Williams has a release clause of approximately 60 million euros, so there is really no negotiating, unless if Williams does a favor to Athletic Club and picks the team that bids the highest.

Chelsea can offer a bigger salary for Williams than Barcelona, but that’s about it. Everything else indicates that Williams would favor Barcelona – not just the rumor mill, but also the fact that Blaugrana stars are recruiting him hard.

Of course, a Chelsea player on the Spanish national team is pushing for Willliams, too, as Marc Cucurella has praised the star man and is working to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

But he isn’t an attacking teammate like Pedri and Yamal are, nor does he have half the connection with Williams that Yamal seems to at this European Championships.

If the Barcelona front office recruits Williams even half as hard as the star players are, then it is only a matter of time before the transfer takes place.
