Manchester United left winger Marcus Rashford is heading back to Old Trafford, and the Red Devils are going to have to facilitate a new team for the England international after Barcelona somewhat surprisingly balked on signing him for 40 million euros, spending more for Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United instead.
While it is a foregone conclusion that Rashford will be playing elsewhere, with Tottenham Hotspur among those linked, it is actually plausible for Rashford to find his way back at the club.
Because Simon Jones of the Daily Mail is reporting, via mufcmpb, that Rashford is somewhat surprisingly actually open to staying with Manchester United this summer transfer window.
However, the most likely outcome is still Rashford leaving, as both he and Man United expect more clubs to be interested after the World Cup ends. But suddenly, Man United fans have to prepare for the possibility of Rashford staying.
There is a chance. It seemed like Rashford would never want to reopen the painful memories, but after playing well for Barcelona and proving to himself he can be a top player again, maybe there is a road back to him fulfilling Man United’s still present need on the left wing under Michael Carrick.
