The 2026/27 Premier League season is on the horizon in less than two weeks. Here are the five most underrated wingers you need to know before the new campaign starts.
Yankuba Minteh, Brighton
Still just 22 years old despite multiple seasons of experience in the top flight, Brighton star winger Yankuba Minteh is already one of the best in the Premier League in his position and is both an elite dribbler and chance creator. Few can stop him one on one, and he nearly had two key passes per game for Brighton. Even though he gets underrated because he does not score much, Minteh is a top player who could get a ton of assists in 2026/27 if the Brighton attack around him can step up.
Dango Ouattara, Brentford
The 24 year old Burkina Faso international was a breakout star for Lorient a few years ago and has translated well to the Premier League, scoring seven goals last season for Bournemouth and now seven this season. He needs to do more in terms of chance creation and has struggled to bring that to the English game, but he is a real threat to score goals and adds the sort of explosiveness on the counter Brentford love. He could have a huge breakout 2026/27 season.
Kevin Schade, Brentford
A gem in the Bundesliga with Freiburg, Kevin Schade is the latest player to make the successful jump from Germany to England, and there is a reason why a lot of big clubs like Tottenham Hotspur have him on their radar. He is an explosive athlete who also works incredibly hard for his team, fitting the Brentford ethos perfectly. Last season, the German international had eight goals, and he is a great finisher who is tricky to stop in transition when he gets on the ball out wide.
Harry Wilson, Fulham
Wales international Harry Wilson is in the prime of his career at 29 and massively underrated, the beating heart of the Fulham attack last season with 10 goals and 7 assists. Wilson has great work rate and end product, and he can conjure up goal scoring opportunities for either himself or his teammates out of nothing. He is a seriously underrated wide creator.
Omari Hutchinson, Nottingham Forest
Capable of playing on either side of the formation, Omari Hutchinson only started in slightly more than half of his Premier League appearances but was still a huge factor last season for Nottingham Forest with five assists. He is one of the best out and out wingers in the Premier League and is poised for a massive breakout 2026/27 campaign with more assists, as he is a great creator and dribbler.
