The latest William Saliba injury update is exactly what Arsenal fans dreaded

Arsenal star William Saliba is one of the best center backs in the world and alongside partner Gabriel Magalhaes a real center piece for the reigning Premier League champions.

But Arsenal have a fresh injury concern on Saliba, as Simon Jones of the Daily Mail reports, via afcstuff, that there are serious concerns regarding the Frenchman’s long term fitness in North London owing to a chronic back injury.

Therefore, Arsenal may be investing again in the center back position this summer even after adding two great players in Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera to an already star studded bunch including Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori, and Gabriel.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal already have Aston Villa and England national team standout Ezri Konsa on their radar, and depending on how they view Saliba’s back, they could be looking at even bigger options in case they end up needing to spell Saliba during the 2026/27 Premier League and Champions League seasons – or having to manage his minutes in total.

Saliba is a world class player with a special skill set at the position, playing the ball with perfection and never getting beat with crazy closing speed. Arsenal fans can only hope he is not hampered, but it sounds like the Gunners are quietly worried about what the future may hold for the 25 year old.
